1. Have students set up their schedule to work on homework while parent are working from home. Then plan (ask politely) to have time to participate in a fun activity, Scrabble, Monopoly, Charades…… with parents and siblings. 2. Student should assist in meal preparations, setting the table and joining in conversation at the table, remembering to use their, “Comments, Questions and Compliments as they contribute to the conversation. (this may mean that the student asks the family to sit together during meal times).
3. Students should be responsible for chores within the home to help out and contribute to the family community. This will ready them for the real world of Dorm life as well as getting an apartment after college.
4. Students at all levels should take on an interest of someone at home, preferably something they don’t like that their person is doing, ie: cooking,, sewing, special program, or video game, story/movie, book…… this is a safe and comfortable environment for them to learn how to take on something that a friend may be interested in and not an interest of theirs.
5. If the family is ordering food via the phone, I would like the students to practice taking the orders from the family and making the calls to order the food.
6. Students should be responsible for planning and preparing at least 2 meals a week to begin. They must use their manners when requesting help from either parents, sibling or guardian. Using Please and Thank You as often as necessary. “Could you please help me with this recipe?” “Thank you”, “I’m not sure about these measurements, would you help me please?” “Thank you,”
7. Students should reach out to others in their class to see how they are faring during this difficult time.

11. Have a family adventure together either reading a book together, watching a movie together or listening to music together. The most important thing to do during this time is to make sure you try to take on the interest of the person picking out the book, movie or music.
